IRIX is bundled with an extensive set of desktop software applications, including Web tools, desktop productivity tools, and other software. IRIX 6.5 Applications, November 2002, is a companion CD to IRIX 6.5.18. This CD contains the IRIX Desktop and various desktop applications. Application upgrades shipped with the IRIX release are either full images or overlays. Full images and base versions of overlays can be found on the Applications CD, whereas updates to overlays are found on the IRIX 6.5.18 Overlays CD, November 2002. To install the new versions of overlay applications you must install IRIX 6.5.18. |

The following full images have been added to the IRIX 6.5 Applications CD, November 2002:
In IRIX 6.5.18, several overlays have been revised to fix Section 508 bugs. Starting with IRIX 6.5.18 the IRIS InSight Viewer (insight) has been converted to a full image rather than an overlay image and the Dynaweb product was removed. Starting with IRIX 6.5.16 the license_eoe product has been converted to a full image rather than an overlay image. The Netscape Fasttrack Server was removed from the IRIX 6.5 Applications CD in May 2001. Its functionality has been superceded by the new SGI web server based on Apache. InPerson Desktop Conferencing, IRIS® Annotator, and PeoplePages - The Indigo Magic Phonebook were removed from the IRIX 6.5 Applications CD, February 2002. This functionality has been superceded by SGImeeting and the Netscape® Communicator address book.
